Relationship to Diabetes
At risk of diabetes
Hi Everyone, I’m an absolute chocoholic and an incredibly fussy eater. (I hate most fruits and most seafood). I’ve always hated cooking and, more often than not, get it all wrong!! I’ll usually eat ready-made meals and takeaways.... if I have to make anything myself it will usually be out of a tin or something like a sandwich.
Are there other people out there like me??
I’ve just had two high HbA1c readings.
Going to see GP in March re type 2 Diabetes.
I know that I’ve got to change my ways...... but it feels so daunting.

Hi EllieBB, welcome to the forum. I have no doubt there are others here that felt just like you, hopefully they will respond to you. You certainly have a challenging time ahead, but with a bit of discipline and will-power, I have no doubt you can do it. Hopefully, these pages will go some way to helping you. Take care.

Eating the right sort of foods, ones low in carbohydrate can mean that your diabetes just fades away - it is your choice, but there are useful kitchen 'toys' which make it really easy to have the foods you can eat easily available.
I have a halogen oven, a hot air fryer, a slow cooker, and a temperature sensing grill so roast meat is no problem - and you'd not be wanting to eat fruit anyway, due to the sugar content.
