Hello
I am new here although I have had Type 2 Diabetes myself for just over a year now, but my Dad has had it a very long time and has had some small complications, caused by acumalative other health issues, for the past year.
I was just diet controlled until this week when I have now been prescribed Metformin tablets which I started yesterday! I am on 1 a day (which I take with lunch) for 2 weeks then it increases to 2 a day (lunch and dinner). Then a trip to the diabetes clinic to see how I am getting on and any further adjustments.
I am also attending a 'Food for thought' course which starts next week (a once a week course for 5 days consisting of a 2 1/2 hr session, then follow ups with diaticial on regular basis to check progress), but that was, coincidentaly, not linked to the diabetes but other health problems as I am taking Cholesterol, high blood pressure and medication for my Ankylosing Spondilitis (AS).
As for me im 37, female and live in West Sussex!
