Hello all...
My names simon..
Hope everyone is well with your diabetese...
I found out i was type 1 5 years ago :( has took me this long to realise i control my condition not let it control me.. i ran on high alot for the first 4 and hakf years untill i went into hospital on 2nd december 2012 with dka this made me realise it was time to book my ideas up. I controlled it perfect corrected when needed and out right amount of units in for what i was eating 2 months later i end up in hospital with dka again....
I have now got funding for a pump which im just waiting on my appointment to see my nee gadget.

Im wanting to meet someone off hear in similiar situation to me female or male i dont mind. Hope to hear from someone

Hi Simon, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear you have had such a difficult time - good luck with your pump when it arrives! Do you know which pump you are getting?

I've been diagnosed nearly 5 years also, although I have been very lucky and have managed to keep good levels - DKA once was enough for me, so it must have been pretty awful for you to end up with it again after all your efforts to gain good control. Have you done a carb counting course, like DAFNE?
 
Im going for the omni pump as it would b alot easier for me wirh it being wireless, yeah it did get my back up i have done carb counting a couple years ago i have no problem with working carbs out that bits easy and doing the corrections just seems t go wrong every now and again so hopefully the pump will help me control it 100% just see how it pans out

I have recently went on the pump in January after 4 years or so following DAFNE......

Still trying to pin down basal doses at the moment, but I am on half the insulin and have lost weight without even trying.....

I assume the omnipod is available at your clinic?
 
Thats what they are finding out for me. My dsn had the information booklet for this pump. She just needs to contact them and book a viewing for me. I actually wanna gain weight so hoping a pump will help me with this as when i get on pump im stopping smoking and joining a gym so fingers crossed
 
Hi Mr Fozzy ! I love some of names people call themselves, Good luck with pump nothings perfect but they are good. 🙂
