Yesterday evening my BG was 17.1 2 hrs after my evening meal. Tested again before bed, still 12 so didn't have any supper. Woke at 2am at 2.4. Very strange, no idea why my blood was that high - or that low. Christmas has been very up and down with not much in the correct range, glad when back to eating a bit more normally!

Sorry to hear this :( What may have happened is that the insulin you took with your evening meal did not get absorbed until much later, after your food had digested (which would have caused your levels to go high and stay high). Might it be a problem with your injection site? It would be worth trying a 'fresher' area for future injections. Hope it doesn't happen again for a long time! 🙂

Or it could be whatever you had for tea. What did you have?

Do you always have a snack before bed without insulin ? If so it could be that the low in the night is caused by your basal being too high. Ignore this if you normally have insulin with your snack.

The other option I thought of was that maybe it was an absorption problem.
