Whats the highest carb treat you've ever jabbed for and how many carbs was it mine is a chocolate eclair at 19g also whats the most rapid you've taken in a day mine was 17 units on Christmas day x

That must've been a big eclair. I get the one's from Tesco & they are about 12g carb each. The cream slows the spike down nicely.

You must buy the 4 pack then Mark mine was Tesco too but was the 2 pack 🙂 x

Ahh yes. Think the 4 pack ones are smaller.

yeah they are and I fancied really pushing the boat out with my treat haha x

Mince pies - 37g carbs each 😱 An extra unit of novorapid kept levels below double figures...! 😱 I can't really say what the highest amount of novorapid in a day was for me, but probably around 45 close to when I was diagnosed. Currently I'm on about 18-20 units a day 🙂

I know, I was tempted by the price - reduced to £1 for 6 after Christmas, didn't read the back until I got them home 😱 On that subject, does anyone else find it really annoying having to turn over packets whose contents really shouldn't be turned upside down, just to find out the carbs? They all fell out of their cases! Same happens with chocolate eclairs - turn them over and the chocolate ends up sticking to the top of the packet 😡 Print the carbs on the front, not just the fat and sugar! 😱 🙂

I'm currently mastering the yoga move of 'holding the packet above my head and trying to read the tiny writing whilst attempting to not look completely crazy' 😛
I agree though, the carbs should be on the front!

Get on the case with fsa Alan.

Oh god don't even get me started on that haha I've gotten into the habit of checking tesco online or asda and writing it all down just so I don't have to do that lol x

The highest carb thing I've eaten I think is a lovely Pavlova I made. I only had one slice. Eneryone else loved it, but to me it tasted almost unpleasantly sweet. That took 6 units to tame.

I've had quite a few Starbucks mince pies, they're my favourite and huge, at 57g of carb a pop they're my biggest Christmas extravagance. I tend to eat one after a no carb meal because they're filling so nice salad then a mince pie 🙂. The most rapid in a day for me is quite small really I suppose at 10 units but that represents 200g of carb for me and I'm pushing it to get to that level because I don't like savoury carbs much (I do love toast though). Ironically it wasn't Christmas Day it was the day after Boxing Day when a friend cooked, and he picked the highest carb foods on the planet (not intentionally he just doesn't get it). It did reinforce for me that I intensely dislike potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, roast parsnips, Christmas pudding (double yuk) and my all time nemesis custard (treble yuk). They went on to truffle mince pies, chocolates and sip hot chocolate but my stomach would have exploded alien style if I'd carried on. I'm quite keen to get back to normal now, I've had my mince pies, truffled my chocolates and even had some biscuits (hideous things), I think I've done my duty for queen and country now :D

Haha wow, I still have like a layer and a half of milk tray left to get through from my birthday, and pile the tub of roses, ferrero rochers on top of that I think I have a good supply for a while I only add one in to a meal and thats not everyday obviously it's not so bad with the green and blacks I got given although the dark ginger has 10.5g per 6 squares so that will be added into meal times, I've had 17 units today but that did include an 80g slice of black forest gateu for new year dinner pud with another slice for tea tomorrow then that will be down with and get back to normal, I will make it through all these chocolates at some point, if it's a particularly good day I may even just jab for a couple with my afternoon coffee lol x
