Hi Am new to the group been diabetic for 20 plus year but have recently start low carb diet but am noticing bs are a bit high later in the day than normal and was wondering if due to the increase in protein earlier in the day is pushing bs high later also am seeing increase in bs when exercising bur that may be down to me not being as fit so body releasing more sugar to help me keep going would appreciate any ones thought thanks in advance

Could be protein, I guess. For exercise, some kinds of exercise (anaerobic, usually intense exercise as opposed to walking, jogging, etc.) can increase BG. (I don't recall the mechanism, largely since almost everything I do is basically walking, so decreases BG.)

Could also be that your background dose isn’t quite right and had previously been masked by active insulin from your lunch dose etc that you are no longer taking due to less carbs at lunch?
