Hi all
Just done my blood reading it's 14.0 should I take any novarapid if so how many units.
 
For me that would depend on a lot of factors - what (and when) I last ate, and whether it was less than 4-5 hours since my last dose.

Then I would need to bear in mind any 'insulin on board' along with my insulin sensitivity (how much 1u of NovoRapid generally drops my BG by).
 
I had sausage and chips from the chip shop at 6.30 and took 12 units of novarapid just as I sat to eat....11 clock this evening took my 15 units of lantus.
I don't know what insulin sensitivity is
 
Just seen this, so apologies for a reply after the event. In absence of more information, and in the early days of my type 1 diabetes, I wouldn't have corrected at 23:00 / 11pm.
Briefly, insulin sensitivity changes through the day. It's usually lower in morning, so you need more insulin for a given amount of carbohydrate. It's also higher after exercise, so you need less insulin then.

I thought you were going to be asking your team about your correction doses? Anyway I hope they are more settled today x

Yes settled this morning woke to to 7.4..I have spoken to my team and they have put my name down for the dafne course just waiting to hear back from them.

The DSN's should be able to help you out with correction doses though in the meantime as you may be waiting quite a while to get on the DAFNE course, are you still taking fixed units? x

9units novarapid at breakfast..10 units at lunch time and 14 units at evening meal time and 15 units of lantus at night x

That's OK lol.....if you mean check my blood yes I do it just before I eat and 2 hrs after then 4 hrs after x

What are your levels generally like 2 hours after eating compared to before you eat? xx
