Hi All,

This morning on waking at 8.49am i did a blood test (hubby thought i may have been hypo as i was sweating & huffing & puffing) & my bs was 13.7. I'm not a breakfast person until somewhere between 1000am - 1100am. What would you have done about the high bs ie done an extra injection, do a correction dose when i have my breakfast.......?

Gill

Depends how close it was to the next meal for me. If I suspected I was rebounding from a high I would get the correction in pronto, but then beat in mind the active insulin when testing/dosing for the next meal. Hope it comes down smoothly for you

Sounds much like a rebound to me too frankly.

What would I have done? Sworn at the Diabetes fairy, and then had an immediate brekkie of one Weetabix and milk (20g carb) with appropriate correction and bolus. And then gone and had a wash and got dressed etc etc.

And then forgotten about it.

as i suffer from dawn phenomenon, it would likely still rise even if i did correct and not eat, so i would always have a yoghurt at 15g carbs with some insulin...........
