Hiya. I have flu and I am so not bs has increased is this because of flu or seperate. I'm only taking paracetamol. What is the best flu remedy? I am on 10 unit of insulin once a day with metformin and jardine

Hi and welcome.

Sorry to hear you are poorly. What sort of readings are you getting and when are you testing?
Which insulin are you using as that will have a bearing on any advice we give. I don't have any experience with mixed insulin, which I would guess you may be using since you are Type 2, but others will do.
Are you managing to eat anything?

It is important to drink plenty of fluids when you are ill, particularly when your BG levels go high to help flush the excess glucose out, so do make sure to always have a glass of water on the go.
As regards your flu symptoms, paracetamol is a good choice as it will treat a fever as well as the aches and pains, so take it at regular intervals, otherwise, rest and keep warm and hope it passes quickly. Are you sure it is normal flu and not Covid?

It might be a good idea to ring your GP surgery in the morning and see if you can get an emergency appointment with the diabetes nurse or GP just to discuss a strategy for perhaps increasing your insulin, if you need to, whilst you are ill, particularly as the Bank Holiday weekend is fast approaching, so working out a plan if levels go off the scale is definitely a good idea, particularly if you are not authorized/trained to adjust your own insulin doses.

I hope you start feeling better soon, but if you can give us more information, then it will help us to give you better suggestions.
