Hi type one here I am having serious issues with my blood sugars they are way up in the 20s no matter what iv done there not coming down and I have ran out of Ketones but I can feel. I have them what should

Hi @Pinkpizzadog Sorry to hear that. If your numbers are in the high 20s and you can’t get them down, I think you should definitely phone 111 for advice.

Would they send me to hospital

Possibly. Is that what’s worrying you? They wouldn’t definitely send you. I had ketones once and got a callback to assess how things were going.

Hopefully you’re calling 111 now, but if you haven’t already, try changing your insulin pen or vial n case it’s degraded and not working properly. Then see if your corrections will work with the fresh insulin.

Sending you best wishes @Pinkpizzadog I hope you get your blood sugar down soon with or without help.

Let us know how you are when you have a moment. Look after yourself. X

Sorry to hear this @Pinkpizzadog

BGs at that level must be very worrying for you.

Are you still taking your insulin? Are you rotating your sites? Do you have fresh insulin pens or vials you can try, in case the ones you’ve been using have become compromised somehow? Might you be sickening with something?

If you haven’t been following sickday rules already, that might be worthwhile?

Do keep your fluid intake up too. And please do contact NHS111 for advice and support.
