Hi, everyone! I'm just going to introduce myself. I hope it's okay that I'm in this space as I'm Canadian, but couldn't find any other online space talking about my concern. I lived with type 1 diabetes for 18 years, developed kidney failure, and received the gift of a simultaneous kidney pancreas transplant. I had a very rapid and steep A1C correction and developed worsening cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy. Im just looking for others who live with treatment induced autonomic neuropathy to share experiences and maybe coping. Thanks , everybody!

Hi @Faite from Canada and welcome to the forum.

Sorry I can't help directly with your questions as I am a straight forward T2 but I'm sure we have members on the forum who can offer some help

Alan 😉

Welcome @Faite, sorry to hear you've had a hard time with these complications.

I am not sure who here is in a similar position, I am sure there will be someone who can offer some lived experience, and advice on here.

Hi and welcome @Faite . All are welcome here wherever you live.

Sorry to read of your diffciulties and sorry not to be able to help.

Hi @Faite and a very warm welcome from me 🙂 Sorry you've had to go through so much, hopefully there will be someone on the Forum who can offer you some support....

Sorry to hear about the autonomic neuropathy which has developed following rapid improvement in your HbA1c @Faite

No problem with your joining the forum 🙂 We have had a few Canadians over the years, plus some folks from the US, Australia and elsewhere!

We have a few people who possibly experience sensory neuropathy, or worsened retinopathy after rapidly improved BG levels.

It seems like for some people these can be transient / temporary symptoms. But for other members they have continued and need to be managed / held steady by effective glucose management.

Have your clinic given you any suggestion as to whether your particular neuropathy might be transient / reversible?
