Hi, just registered although I have been a member of Diabetes UK since 1974. I have been diagnosed at various times as MODY, Type 2 and now Type 1! A bit of mystery really. I am registered as visually impaired and just starting to have kidney problems. Need to lose some weight so looking for advice to do so

Welcome @MMCD 🙂 That’s an interesting diabetes history! What insulins do you take? Do you carb count and adjust your fast/meal insulin? I find reducing carbs slightly helps to lose weight. Keeping a food diary is useful too as often it’s obvious where we’ve let a bit too many calories or carbs sneak in.

Goodness! What an adventure you have been on! Did you get the monogenic tests for MODY? And what circumstances brought about the change of classification to T1?

What sorts, of weight loss approaches appeal to you, or have you tried already?

Glad that you have found us. Do ask any questions that you have.
There is plenty of experience to draw on m and no questions are considered silly.
I look forward to hearing more from you.
