i just registered,so hello all! I am 34 and have a 7 yr old daughter wiyh type 1 she also has coeliac. She is on novarapid before meals and has lantus at night.next clinic visit we are going to request a pump as she is very keen.
My son is just 12 and been on a pump since last august. His hba1c has come down from 9.6 to 7.1 - very pleased with that. He loves the pump too. I am in a bit of a rush at the moment as getting ready to holiday with 40 families with a type 1 (some of them coeliac too) child over the weekend. I will try to get back and 'speak' at a later date. I think if your child wants a pump and your team will give one - then go for it.🙂Bev
Hi domtheham, welcome to the forum 🙂 Great news that your daughter is being offered a pump and is keen, from what I can gather they will really help her to live a much more normal life with better levels, greater flexibility in eating and much more sponteneity! 🙂 If you have any pumping questions, we have quite a few here who started pumping just a few months ago, so I'm sure they will be able to help you out! 🙂
