Hi I am new to the forum and need a bit of advice

I am prediabetic and my last HBA1c was 46 . I am drinking gallons through the night and getting up also for a wee at least 3/4 times in night too. I mentioned this to the GP last week and he said my results was only borderline so wasn't prepared to start Metformin but on most of the information I read says " If symptomatic start Metformin" . My HBA1c has been steadily climbing the last three results . Can anyone suggest anything please ??

Hello to Bloo.

Have you been eating high carbohydrate foods and keeping your blood glucose high?
Your Hba1c is indicative of average blood glucose levels over several months, so you could be seeing higher levels at the moment which explains your symptoms.
I'd be wanting to know my blood glucose readings right now, and be tracking the increases various meals produce. It will mean funding your own meter and strips etc, but there are cheap options to be bought mail order.
I eat low carb and my readings are normal, with no symptoms of dabetes.

Hello and welcome to the forum Bloo. 🙂
