Hi my names Charlotte, I'm 18 and have had type 1 diabetes for 6 years. I don't really know anyone with diabetes so find it hard to get support needed I have had some troubles recently with my diabetes and poor care as I find it hard to carb count etc. Would really appreciate any advice and support from people who know what its like to have type 1 diabetes. thanks🙂

Hi Charlotte, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear you've been having problems - hopefully we will be able to help you out with them 🙂

What insulin regime are you on? Are there particular times of the day that you have problems, and is it mainly highs or lows you have difficulties with? Have you been on a carb counting course? Sorry for all the questions! Are you at the adult clinic for your care? A lot of people your age find it particularly difficult when they transfer to adult care. Is there anything in particular that you feel they could do better for you?

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have - nothing is considered 'silly', and there are lots of friendly, experienced people here who know just what you are going through 🙂
