Relationship to Diabetes

nan to two energetic kiddies , new to diabetes , and trying to get to grips with my pc .. other than that alls well , off to have a look around and try not to get lost 🙂
 
Hi nan2two, welcome to the forum 🙂 How did you come to be diagnosed? I would suggest having a look at our 'Useful Links' thread for links to some good resources. In particular, I would recommend reading Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter, and getting hold of a copy of Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker - recommended by many of our members. These will all help you to get to grips with things and to understand how to control your diabetes.

Have you been given any medication, and test strips and a meter so that you can monitor the effects of different foods on your blood sugar levels? Testing is the best and quickest way to learn how well you can tolerate different things, and decide what may need to be substituted or reduced in quantity in your diet.

Please ask any questions you may have - nothing is considered 'silly', and we will do our best to help you out! 🙂

Thank you Northener , I have just started on Metformin , and no to test strips or a meter !! will certainly look into that , and thank you so much for the other pointers .. will be back this evening to have a good look around 🙂

Hello Nan2two and welcome to the forum.
There's no chance of getting lost as search parties are sent out on a regular bases 🙂
 
Pumper Sue .. thank you for the welcome x think l will be ok finding my way around , just incase l am wearing a very large Red Hat .!! so should be quite visable to any searchers 😉
 
Hi there. Welcome to the forum. Do you know what your blood sugar readings were when you were diagnosed? I don't think you will have chance to get lost on here.
