I have just found this site today. My husband has been Type 2 for 6 1/2 years. In November, I had a TIA and yesterday after a GTT test on Tuesday I was told I have impaired glucose tolerance, and I have to eat a healthy diet, exercise, and loose weight.

Welcome HippyChick.

Lots of advice on this board for healthy diets, weight loss (Weight Loss Group section), exercise (Sports & Exercise section) etc. So, just look around and ask anything you feel like. There are members who have experience of other conditions such as TIA, in addition to diabetes / impaired glucose tolerance etc.

Welcome to the forum HippyChick 🙂

Welcome to the site........

So whats involved with your intolerance so far.........?

Hi HippyChick,
A warm welcome to the forum.

Anything you need to know then please ask and someone will be happy to answer.

Hi HippyChick, welcome to the forum. I too was diagnosed with impaired glucose tolerance (May 2011) and given the same advice as you. Sorry to hear about the TIA, it must have been quite scary! The good people on this site have been a massive support and a constant source of information to me. I am sure you will find they are to you too. Hopefully with your diagnosis, this will be the start of an improvement in your health as you learn more about your condition. The very best of luck to you. Katie

Hi Hippychick and a warm welcome to the forum

Hi KatieB, Thanks for the welcome. Yes it was quite scary, and the past couple of months have been a bit of a whirlwind, they are still doing tests, also they have found out that, I have anemia, so they are trying to find out what is causing that, I feel like I am falling apart, I knew there was a reason I didn't go to the doctors, too many things I don't want to know...
