Relationship to Diabetes

Hi There.

Im a 36 year old bloke, that his friend thought it was hilarious even my diabetes was juvenile 🙂 - If you know me Im a big kid anyway.

I joined this site after doing a search on hayfever and diabetes - (I still spell that wrong after 2 years).

Looks like a friendly forum.

I was diagnosed in Nov 2009 with Type one after I went to the doctors, praying for a water infection but knowing it was diabetes.

2 years on it no longer the first thought in my head when i wake up. and most of the time I'm not too bad on my management of it and its always there but not at the front of my mind any more.

so any way Hi

Hi Kloopk, welcome to the forum 🙂 I'm even worse - diagnosed aged 49 and now 3 years down the line. Glad to hear you are dealing with it well, if there is anything we might be able to help with, please ask! 🙂

Welcome to the forums Kloopk 🙂

Hi Kloop and a warm welcome to the forum x

Welcome from another "juvenile" diagnosed as an adult (30 years then).

I don't get hayfever, but fellow paddling friends have pointed out that canoeing / kayaking on big lakes / big rivers / sea can mean far lower pollen exposure. Have you tried that?

Hi kloopk. Welcome. 🙂

I qualified as a proper juvenile when I was diagnosed at 13.:D
