Hi,
Just saying hello 🙂
I had a high GTT pre-pregnancy and so have been testing since October. In my last 3 weeks of pregnancy now and have managed to stay off insulin so far, just by being uber careful and not eating anything nice! I'm really confused about how to manage my diet though. I know it sounds silly, but apart from avoiding sugar I'm not sure what i'm doing and the dietician has been of zero help at all. I'm just trying to eat healthily and kind of using low GI priniciples, but any advice or links on a sound process to follow would be most appreciated...feel a bit like I'm flailing around in the dark and would like to feel a bit more in control. I have no idea about carbs etc and just tend to look at sugar content...but again, the dietician says there isn't any guidance about what is too much sugar etc.
I'm thinking I'll probably have to eat like this full-stop now, as the high GTT was before pregnancy and so even if things change after birth, I'd like to avoid turning type 2 if I can and I'd like to breast feed, so want to give her as stable a start as I can.
