Relationship to Diabetes

Hi all, been a lurker for a while and finally decided to post. been diagnosed nearly 2 years and still getting to grips with it all.
started on insulin (insulatard) and metformin tablets then a period of no medication just diet control for 6months and now back on insulin.
Just had 2nd Retinopathy exam and just awaiting the results. ok I think I've waffled on enough :D

Hello Bobbino, its nice to have you with us, I have only just discuvered this group and oh boy do they know their stuff, I too was diagnosed in 2009 by accident and since then it has blown out of proportion and I just cannot get to grips with all that we should know, being able to talk to someone else with the same problems helps greatly, hope you enjoy your stay with this group, I know I will.

They told me I was an enigma at the local hospital because of it :D always knew I was, all the tests and theres been a lot :( all come back type1. Just had blood taken in the last week for MORE tests and am awaiting the results for that.............so who knows

Though, can't make out from the above whether you're diabetic or just the subject of taunts from your local hospital - I know I wouldn't be happy being called an enema 😱

Hope you get pigeon-holed soon - at least you'll have a better idea of what to do!
