Hi all, Thanks for having me. I have had type 2 Diabetes for around 5 years. Not sure what to expect this is the first forum I have joined.

Hi, and welcome. The forum is a great place to seek advice, share experience of diabetes or just to connect with other diabetics.

How are you managing your T2?

Hi thanks for the welcome! I was diagnosed in March 2017, and it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Highs of 115 IFCC HbA1c (mmol/mol) lows of 43 IFCC HbA1c (mmol/mol). But its has been creeping back up an I think I may have to start taking Insulin. I am a bit nervous about that.

Do you self test? I do, as do many others, and it gives me an idea of how my BG is trending. So far it's not trending upwards, which is reassuring.

Hi and welcome to the forum @Dave_abz

This forum will offer help, advice and the experience of others who are in the same boat, to a greater or lesser degree to yourself.
Ask as many questions as you wish and someone will pop along with ideas of how to help from personal experience

Alan 😉

Are you already on any oral medications and what sort of dietary approach do you follow, it is not inevitable that you will need insulin if you can get your diet and meds balance right. Many are able to maintain a normal blood glucose level by doing just that but it need some vigilance on your part to keep a good track of where you are on a day to day, week to week basis.

Hi @Dave_abz and welcome to the forum from me too!

I going on insulin something that has been hinted at in your recent medical appointments? As some users have said, regular testing and changes in lifestyle can help you keep your levels down, however that's also very dependant on what else you have going on as those things aren't always viable. If you'd like some advice from the forum's users, do feel free to share a bit about yourself and ask questions as folk are always keen to help out and share what has helped them :star:
