Type 2
Hi i have finally been diagnosed a type diabetic on wednesday after 2 consecutive Hba1cs of 48 after 9 years of yo yoing hba1c results.
I am a runner and have complete 6 half marathons after starting running a 57, so I am fittish and active.
Have retired from half marathons now and plan to stick to 5k and the occasional 10k.
How do you runners deal with your diabetes?

thanks
Ann

Hello there @acc1 and may I be the first to welcome you to the forum.

Welcome to the forum @acc1

We have several T2s (and those with other types) who use running or other forms of exercise - walking, cycling, aquafit, gardening, tango dancing… as part of their diabetes management toolkit, or simply for enjoyment.

Do you have a parkrun near you? Those are very popular, and there seems to be a really positive atmosphere and supportive community around them.

You might find some interesting threads in our exercise section:

It’s a while since I did much distance running - I did a number of 10k and a half marathon, but now my ‘exercise time’ is mostly occupied by this rampaging ball of energy
