At risk of diabetes
Hi
I've been diagnosed as pre-diabetic a couple of days ago.
My bloods came back as 42.
I'm not overweight as I lead a very active lifestyle but have suffered with eating disorders for 40 years and binge eating for months has led to me being pre-diabetic.
No doubt I'll have plenty of questions.

Welcome to the forum
You are just on the cusp of prediabetic so some minimal changes should enable you to drop down just that bit.
Just cutting down on portions of any high carb foods, 1 slice of bread instead of 2, less potatoes, less rice or pasta and more veg. Maybe keeping cakes and biscuits as treats rather than everyday. Swap to diet drinks. That should be sufficient

Thank you Leading Lights, I really hope that is all it takes.

Welcome to the forum @peggy

Sorry to hear you have wrestled with disordered eating. Its such a difficult condition to work through.

We have a few members who have experienced eating disorders both before and sometimes since their diagnosis. So you are not alone.

Have they undertaken any investigations (such as cPeptide) to see what the nature of your potential diabetes might be?

As you aren’t overweight it may be that you don’t fit the ‘classic’ phenotype for some of the more obvious types, and may need a slightly more personalised treatment plan?
