I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a year ago, I was put on 2000mg a day , I’ve been experiencing tightness of my stomach muscles which is so uncomfortable? Is this common ?? I’ve asked my diabetic nurse but she’s very evasive ?? Thank you

Welcome to the forum
The effects of metformin usually happen when people first start or go onto an increased dose so whether the stomach discomfort is related to that if it is after some time may be doubtful. However it probably need further investigation nonet he less.

Hello @ljjk,

I haven't heard many stories on the forum about tightness of stomach muscles, but stomach discomfort does exist when people usually start metformin.
