I am new to this, I have had type 2 for 3 years, lost 3 stone and at my target weight, careful with what I eat, take my tablets and cannot get below 65
Welcome to the forum
What medication do you take as that might make a difference as to what may be a successful dietary approach.
You say you are careful with what you eat but sadly the dietary advice from the NHS does not recognise the power of a low carb approach and the Standard NHS Eatwell Plate is too high is carbohydrates for many to tolerate and they struggle to reduce their HbA1C as you appear to be.
Have a look at this link https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/ as it may give you an indication of where you may be going wrong with your diet. It is suggested that no more than 130g carbs not just sugars per day is a good starting point.
Perhaps you would like to post the sort of meals you have and people may spot some problem foods.
Well done on the weight loss that should really be helping.
You may benefit from having a home testing blood glucose monitor so you can keep a check on progress and also to test the suitability of your meals by testing before you eat and after 2 hours, an increase of no more than 2-3mmol/l is the aim otherwise you meal is too carb heavy.
If your HbA1C is not coming down then diet is the first thing to look at but if that is OK then it may be that you need more help from medication but dietary changes can be just as powerful.
