Just heard I am pre diabetic, fish out of water springs to mind! Studying everything I can find, this place looks a great resource. Done a monthly menu and bought a mini trampoline, plan to loose 5.5st.

Welcome to the forum @Eponine

Good luck with your weight loss goals. Have you decided on a strategy that you might try? We have a friendly and supportive weight loss group where you might like to exchange experiences with other members.

You might also like to consider registering for the Learning Zone, which is packed full of bite sized modules which you can work through at your own pace 🙂

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

A prediabetic diagnosis is a wake up call so you can take action and it sounds as if you are taking some action in your plan to lose some weight. You are obviously well organised in making a meal plan as it is important to find a dietary approach that you enjoy and can sustain.
Do you know what your HbA1C is that gave your diagnosis as it will indicate how much you may need to reduce your carbs to have an effect on blood glucose.
This link may help you with some options for dietary changes https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/
By following the principals in the link I reduced my HbA1C from 50mmol/mol to 36mmol/mol and it is an approach that is now my new way of eating.

They didn't give me my actual results just sent me a letter saying someone would be in touch. Then yesterday a guy rang and said I had 2 choices on line or in person course so I chose the online, he said someone else would be in touch. I work for the NHS and have seen the struggle some have so I want to keep on top of it, I have known for years I needed to loose weight and this is what I needed to kick me into action. Learning so much about it all is mind boggling at the moment but I will stick with it.

Love the mini trampoline idea! Same here @Eponine, I knew I had to lose weight for years, but the diagnosis was the kick up the posterior that I needed. Nearly 3 years on and I feel decades younger and fitter....best thing that could have happened to me. I didn't think so to start with though. As you say it is mind boggling and really hard to get your head around, but you have made a start.. Keep at it! 🙂

Good chance that if you lose that weight your pre diabetes diagnosis will be history.

Wife was in same position as you 5 years ago, told she was prediabetic so decided to do something about it, joined local Slimming group & went on to lose 5 stone in total, all bloods since have been normal so it can be done mate.

Thanks for your positive posts, trampoline has arrived, it was hard work just putting it together. Did my bloods for the first time this morning 6.3 before breakfast. Learning fast why I'm the size I am, I was a carb addict looking at the things I was eating
