Welcome to the forum @Shazzi

Sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing. But good to hear that you are on a flexible insulin regimen. Which insulins are you using, is it a long acting one, and a separate one for mealtimes?

For me, using insulin as part of diabetes management is largely about identifying how to balance your food, doses, the needs of your metabolism, and *everything else* (exercise, illness, alcohol, weather, stress, excitement, activity, changes in season, hormones, and more besides!)

While not specifically intended for T2, you might find some helpful pointers about intensive insulin therapy in things like the BERTIE course, which you can work through online, free of charge. Or for a more basic overview you can check out the ’nuts and bolts’ of carb counting from DUK

Keep asking questions here too. We have several T2 members using insulin in various ways to support their diabetes management. 🙂

sorry, you feel like this just by contacting this site and reaching out is a positive step.
First, see another doctor if you can someone who will take the time to help and educate you, I personally think you are amazing for taking charge of your own health.
Second, make sure you are monitoring your blood sugar I know you are an expert but just to say before injecting and documenting on app or paper. Check your blood sugars post-eating after 2 hours as well as before insulin before breakfast. This will give you an indication of what foods are causing you to spike high sugars, then you can adjust
Thirdly. Important because you are on insulin you need to get on board a good doctor/ nurse who cares and a naturopath nutritionist so you will have the support needed to go forward, as this is important as you change what you eat your blood sugar will start to become lower. always wash your hands before taking a reading. There is some new blood sugar monitoring machine that you don't have to prick yourself all the time.
It sounds like you are type 1? make sure you hydrate well with still water and look at your sleep patterns.
wish you well persist to get the support you need.
don't give up you are worth it xxxxxx
