Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
hello, I'm clea, I'm new (and lost ... and scared of course 🙂, type2, day 14, just past the denial stage, going into information gathering and processing. I've just ordered the book everybody was recommending, thank you for that. I've started the diet 10 days ago and I just have this question that won't leave me alone - will it ever go away?

Hi and a warm welcome to the forum, its very scary being diagnosed you freak out, but never fear you have made a great step in joining this place, we will help you out wherever possible so dont be afraid to ask anything xx

Hi Clea, welcome to the forum 🙂 There's no cure, but I will say this, now that you are diagnosed and making adjustments there is every possibility that you might end up feeling happier and healthier than you have for a while! Being diagnosed with diabetes forces people to examine their health much more closely, and if you are prepared to put in the effort required to start managing it well, then it will be less of the problem you may perceive it to be at the moment. Take your time to absorb all the information that will be flying around you at the moment, and if you ever need something explaining then please ask and we'll try our best to help - no question is considered 'silly'! 🙂

Looking forward to hearing more from you!

No.

Which diet did you start by the way ? The recommended low GI, Mediterranean style diet ?
Can you tell us what you eat in a typical day ?

Welcome to the forums Clea 🙂
