Hi there! Are there any partners or carers of older T1 Diabetics out there? I am the wife of a recently diagnosed 78 year old T1 (LADA), 2 1/2 years now. Would be good to hear from you!

There are quite a few people who are carers/partners, @Isi16 is one that comes to mind but there are a few others but sometimes they don't visit too often.
I'm sure you will learn a lot that will be of help to you in understanding some of the issues by looking through some of the posts from others, they will usually say under the signature that they are partner/carer.

Welcome to the forum @SMM

Yes as @Leadinglights says, we have a number of parent/carer/spouse/partner members, and a number of members living with LADA themselves - so you’ll have lots of folks to compare experiences, questions and ideas with.

How have things been for you both over the last couple of years? Have you been able to settle into fitting his condition into your general lives after the initial upheaval, or are you still finding some things difficult?

What treatment is your husband on? Which insulin(s) does he use?
