Hi - I have simply stumbled on this site after searching to see whether Sarah Beeney is pregnant again! I have two teenagers with Type 1, my eldest was diagnosed in 2000 at the age of 8 and my youngest in 2007 at the age 13. Needless to say I wish I had found the site a long time ago.. However after reading some of the threads I have no doubt it's an incredible support mechanism and I look forward to being a part of it 🙂
 
That has to be one of the strangest ways of finding us. How are your teenagers coping with it all? Are they still at home?

Goodness, you have certainly got your hands full, how are they both doing? Are they on injections or pumps? Have a look in our Useful links thread for some, err, useful links!

This is a great site for sharing your experiences - all the ups and downs - and as you are no doubt aware you are always learning with diabetes, so if there are any questions you have then please do ask away - nothing is considered 'silly' and your question might just be something that someone else wants to know as well 🙂

In answer to your query. She normally is, so probably, yes. :D

You clearly have your hands full and can no doubt be a great help to some of our parents of newly diagnosed children and teenagers.

What regime are they both on ?

Thats an eperience by itself having two to sort out ! I have only been posting since july and have been away on holi for less than a week and back on site. Wecome !🙂

Welcome! Have you discovered Children With Diabetes? childrenwithdiabetesuk.org - there are a few parents on there who have 2 children with type 1 🙂

Hi, I know! They cope well and by all accounts I have been really lucky with how they have dealt with things. My eldest has just moved out and I didn't ever think I could worry any more than I used to but this has take things to a whole new worry level... But I have to say she seems to be managing better independently and I am really proud . My youngest is at home and just started his first job and is loving life..

Chuckle! Sarah Beeney leads the way! Both are on pumps which they started in October last year and I have to say they have been life changing. I am looking forward to being part of the site and learning from and sharing experiences. I know what you mean about the learning.. and the ups and downs, the more support the better 🙂

Hi both moved to pumps last year and they have made a massive difference.. A lot more work initially and much to learn. Hope to be able to be of some help and have no doubt there will be so much more for me to learn here.

On the Sarah Beeney point.. Am thinking she is trying to fill that rather large house she has!
