Hi, my name is Eddie. I have recently joined Diabetes UK as a Supporter Care Advisor, and am really keen to explore what the forum has to offer.

Outside of work I am really into the gym and making music, as well as enjoying the simple things in life such as a good cup of coffee in the morning and chilling out with my cocker spaniel called Eliza (see attached pic). I am very keen to travel more in life, mainly to European countries such as Croatia, Latvia, Luxembourg, and the Czech Republic. I'd love to hear anyone's travel stories from there (or anywhere)!!

Thank you in advance for welcoming me!

Welcome, @Edward DUK . Croatia is one of my favourite countries, it’s got a bit of everything. Island hopping, beaches, old villages, inland lakes and waterfalls; Dubrovnik, Split and Zadar, for bigger interesting towns; in the North, Pula for Roman architecture and the Istrian peninsula for Italian influence; the river Neretva in the South, with its wetlands and orange groves (follow the river all the way up and you get to Mostar in Bosnia, with the famous bridge); and a whole load of other things I’ve forgotten to mention.

And a big welcome from me too Eddie......

Hi

Welcome.

If you want to travel, don't put it off!

I took the motorhome over to Croatia the year before lockdown, it was an amazing trip.
But after lockdown, some places just haven't opened up again, or the cost has gone through the roof, or (other people's) health issues have stopped the months long trips.

So the motorhome has stayed in the UK, and we've done long weekends and city breaks in Europe now flying is so cheap.

So, get away when you can, to anywhere!

Welcome to the forum @Edward DUK

Good to have you here. 🙂
