Hi All,
I'm an ExPat, living in California.... Just 'found' this forum this morning & thought I'd introduce myself.

Diagnosed T2 just over a year ago, I have been on a voyage of discovery in relation to my diet & Blood Glucose, I must say it has been enlightening, particularly the lows on a conventional diet & Glyburide. Personally my quest has lead me to a LCHF diet (20 carbs a day) and cutting the Glyburide; these days my FBG is in the 70-90 range based on diet, exercise & Metformin (which I don't really need) & an A1C of 5.5% 6 weeks into a LCHF diet.

I am very lucky, I'm reading a lot of tales about Doctors being slow to acknowledge diagnosis or start treatment; my PCP just walked into the room after some blood work & told me "Your Fasting Blood Glucose is 253, you are diabetic". Since then he has been very supportive & wholeheartedly agrees with my stance of not wanting to take drugs.

Wish you guys the best of luck in our lifelong quest for control

Hi and welcome from a fellow T2 who's 15 months in.

Hi and welcome to forum

Hi and welcome to the forum. I visited California in october last year, we had a great time and cant wait to go back.

these days my FBG is in the 70-90 range
I take it those are fingerprick tests in mg/dl (we would say 3.9-5.0 mmol/l). This seems to me to be slightly too low, especially the lower end; if it were me, I would be more comfortable with 4.5-5.5 (80-100). Still, if it works for you...

Hi and welcome to the forum :D

Welcome to the forum.

Hi Martin,

My only experience of California is sadly a 3 hour stopover in LAX, so I wish I could say they were fond memories! Would love to be off the drugs myself, and maybe I can still hope for that, but for now I've got some way to go! Best of luck and glad you're having success on your journey. Welcome.

Welcome Martin. California is my fav place in USA. I have driven in Arizona , Calif, Death valley & Vegas. Great place.
