Hi all

My 1st post here, starting the NHS Remission programme on 3rd April to try and kick type2 into remission

Diagnosed March last year with a blood reading of 48 (spent a number of years pre diabetic) and was put on Metformin (1 tablet a day)

Lost around a stone in weight since I was diagnosed by using Huel Protein Drinks & Meals to supplement meals every now and then

Starting weight for the trial is 106kg and, having had my Diabetes Annual Review a couple of weeks ago, my Blood reading is down at 44

My biggest concern in taking part of the trial is Boredom of Lack of Choice of the shakes (any reason why I shouldn’t replace 2 shakes with a 400Kcal Huel Hot Meals (so keeping to the 800Kcal a day limit)) every now and then?

I want to get down to 83kg, get my BMI out of Obese and of course get my Diabetes into remission

Wish me luck

Welcome to the forum @ArmsoftUK

We’ve had members who have used soups and shakes, carefully curated regular food, or combinations of the two. Some aim for a rapid intervention with significant weight loss over a period of a few weeks, while others are happy for their weight to reduce to target over a much longer time-frame

I think the research shows that either fast or slow weight loss can work - as long as your ‘personal fat threshold’ is reached 🙂
