I have been a type 2 diabetic for over 10 years and had an Ileostomy for over 40 years. I also have a Spinal Stenosis which means it is difficult for me to exercise for very long. Hoping there may be someone who has similar problems who could give me some pointers.

Welcome to the forum @Glady . I am glad that you have found us.

I had a spinal stenosis which was released with an operation. I am still left with some numbness in my leg and foot, and have had to learn how much exercise I am able to do, and then exercise within those limitations. I know that whatever exercise I am able to do helps me to reduce my glucose levels.
I certainly find swimming is helpful as there is no impact and even just walking and ‘running’ in the pool is hard work with the resistance that the water gives. It confuses people as they swim past but it is such good exercise. I am not sure whether your ileostomy precludes swimming.

Whatever exercise you are able to do it may help to link it to common activities. I have some simple Pilates exercises I do every time I put the kettle in. Easy to remember to do it.

Keep in touch and fire away with any questions you have.
