Hello and welcome to the club no-one wants to be a members of. However you will find lots of support, advice (not medical advice I hasten to add) from people who are actually living with and dealing with the condition you've now been diagnosed with, and even silly jokes and quips which you'll just have to go along with (well, we do so why not you too ?).

When you feel like it tell us more about yourself please - how were you diagnosed, are you on medication or diet and exercise and then you will find a lot of people come up with bright ideas which you may (or may not) follow up.

We're a mixed bunch but mostly harmless......wishing you well and sending hugs, 🙂

Hi Sue,
Welcome to the forum, I am new to it too although I have been diabetic for years. The people on here are so helpful, no question is a silly one and there is so much information that others can direct you to it great!! :D

Hello Sue, welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed in August and in a bit of a spin, not really knowing what to do, but settling down now with the help of the forum. Ask away any questions you have, or if its just a chat, thats ok too.🙂

Ok here goes.....Was diagnosed on Monday, have been pre-diabetes last 2 years, this time had 2 fasting BG 8.3 so doc diagnosed type2. To be honest its been one thing after another. Diagnosed with underactive thyroid 4 yrs ago then had heart problems diagnosed with leaking heart valve 2 yrs ago also diagnosed with fibromyalgia around same time.
Have had so much pain i'm sick of it, had an op on achillies tendon in August which all went wrong & i ended up back in hosp for a week the wound is slowly (very slowly) healing but its a bit of a mess. I have the same problem in the other achillies but dont want surgery on it 😡 Then i had to have an MRI scan done as i'm having problems with my back, doc called me in on Mon & told me i need surgery on that too.....oh & you are also diabetic 😱

I Blame the thyroid i was fine till then

i blame the gallbladder

hiya sue i am a newbie 2 joined the other day,i have a bit of a similar story ,i,m 39 and at 36 had gallbladder out 37 diagnosed with fibro 38 got cancer and now 39 got diabetes ,i blame the gallbladder cos i was fine till then.thought i was the only one who was getting hit with the unlucky stick.
i hope things start picking up for you like me we have had our fair share.
i get really down and the pain is horrendous take sooooo much medication for that hoping that the diabetes can be helped without meds ,although i have read its a progressive illness and will need meds eventually ,fingers crossed happier times ahead eh?

Hi Sue and Jayne, its unusually quiet on here tonight, must be a special night on tv.🙂

You have both had rather a tough time and you have my sympathies. You will get all the support you want from the guys on here so I wouldn't fret too much about the diabetes. I was in a tiss when first diagnosed and looked everywhere for answers, but I eventually calmed down and can say now that whilst I would rather not have type 2, I am more comfortable with it now and am heading in the right direction.

The more experienced will be along I am sure, so I hope you will be a little reassured in the meantime. 🙂

Sorry to hear you've had such a tough time. I hope things settle down soon. Welcome to the boards- everyone is very friendly here :D
