Hi
I am new to this site although I have been on medication about 9 years I have only recently started using Insulin. For the first time I am going abroad this May to las Vegas my son is getting married there. With one thing and another need to chat with others as to how things work with Insulin twice a day also be nice to make new friends.
Hope to hear from someone soon

Hi Gillian and welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of support and friendly advice on here so ask away xx

Hi Gillian, welcome to the forum 🙂 What insulin are you on? I think the main things to consider are getting a letter from your DSN (your doctor may charge!) stating that you need insulin. You need to carry it in your hand luggage as it is too cold for it in the hold. Also, you might want to consider getting a Frio wallet to keep it cool whilst you are over there. This page will give more information: http://www.diabetes.org.uk/Guide-to-diabetes/Living_with_diabetes/Travel/

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have - nothing is considered 'silly'! Or just have a good old rant or moan when things are getting on top of you - you are amongst people who understand!

Look forward to hearing more from you 🙂

Hi Gillian and a warm welcome to the forum

Hi Gillian and welcome to the forum🙂

Hi Gillian and welcome to the forum from a fellow "newbie".
Las Vegas heh? No, I'm not jealous at all!
You'll have a brilliant time, regardless of the diabetes. Remember: you have IT; it doesn't have you!
Good advice on the note from the DSN - I've been all over the world with my blood testing kit and syringes (latterly, pens) and never had any probs. Never been to USA though .... suspect they could be more interrogative?

Welcome to the forum.

Las Vegas is a fun place to visit. I went a few years ago :D
