Hi

Welcome to the forum🙂. How long have you been diabetic for?

Hi Iv'e been diagnosed for just over a month now and slowly getting to grips with life as a T2.
I had an accident at work which sent me to the local hospital by ambulance, following several tests i was found to have high blood pressure and diabetes, the accident happened approximately seven weeks ago, I have completely healed with the exception of a cut on my left shin which is taking for ever to heal, I am currently visiting my doctor twice a week because of the injury.

Hi Pit, the diabetes is probably a factor in the healing of the cut - if your blood sugar levels are higher than normal then it can take things longer to heal and this is probably why your doctor is paying such close attention to it.

If you want to learn a little about what diabetes will entail, then a well-recommended book is Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year - An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed by Gretchen Becker, should give you a good grounding in what to expect and how to deal with it.

I used to live in Folkestone - worked at Saga! I used to live on Earls Avenue, just off The Leas - really beautiful in the summer and a great run out down the coast to Hythe 🙂
