Hi!

My name is Fiona. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when I was 13 (a week later exactly. Didn't get to finish my birthday chocolate!). I initially went to my GP with an earache and mentioned my diabetes symptoms whilst I was there (this has been a running joke in the family since).

I'm originally from Hampshire but currently live in South Wales. I'm married and have a young daughter.

Looking forward to talking to you all and to people who understand what it is like to live with diabetes 🙂

It must have been a huge shock for you age 13. How are you managing with a young child? I was diagnosed in my late 50's and full of admiration for younger people who manage diabetes plus all the other challlenges of life. 🙂
