Morning all, longtime pre diabetic here (8 years and counting). I've been controlling my HbA1c (low 40s) from diagnosis, or rather warning of glucose intolerance from my doctor, by low carbing and have been keto for most of the time. I restrict carbs to around 20-30 gm per day with no ill effects. My diet is varied, omnivore, but everything in moderation.
I'll look forward to joining in the discussions on the forum.

Well done in maintaining things, that is a pretty restrictive dietary regime but if it suits you and it is working for you then fair enough. I think a lot of people would find it pretty difficult.
I'm sure people would be interested in what meals you have if you are willing to share.

My meals are pretty varied, just no carby veg. An example from today:
Breakfast is nearly always the same, a couple of spoonfuls of berries with two spoonfuls of creme fraisch (full fat) and a sprinkling of homemade seed muesli.
Lunch varies, today was a slice of roasted ham with two fried eggs, followed by some coconut milk with coco powder mixed in. Usually though I have a salad with homemade coleslaw.
Evening meals vary from vegan to full on carnivore.
The vast majority of meals are home prepared from fresh ingredients with very little processed food. No rice, bread, potatoes pasta.
Once I got used it this way of eating it became easy, and I won’t be going back to the “Eatwell” plate or whatever it’s called, far too many carbs for me.

Yes far too many carbs for those who are type 2 dietary managed as has been acknowledged by the Freshwell project with their low carb approach but that is still more carbs than you are having. Any reason you have creme fraise rather than full fat Greek yoghurt.
I aim at 70g per day which I find very doable.

I love FF Greek yoghurt, but unfortunately any fermented food upsets my digestive system! Probably the bacteria in yoghurt etc don't agree with the ones in my gut. :(

Interesting as people are recommended to have 'live' yoghurt to help with gut issues.

Great that you have found an approach that works so well for you. Congrats on keeping your glucose levels in a happy place for so many years 🙂
