Have been T2 for around 6 years ..... 3 - 4 years prior to that as pre diabetic......... was 64 on what I call my Diabetes Richter Scale initially and with tablets and a lot of confusion over food and not very good dietary advice from GP managed to get down to around 46. Have yo-yo'd up and down over the years. 2017 took up exercising and lost a bit of weight although I'm not a big woman and got back down to 45'ish with 4 Sukkarto tablets per day.....a year ago'ish the GP also put me on one tablet Sitigliptin (sp?) - which totally destroyed my stomach and prevented me going far from a loo - last November found that my Richter scale points had risen again to 69. GP said she would give me 3 months to get it down otherwise I would be on insulin ? Finally after all this time I cut the carbs and I do between 10,000 & 15,000 steps a day ! I exercise 'at least' 5 to 6 times a week for up to an hour a day mainly online walking exercises (which bumps up those steps) and throwing myself around my lounge to various 'disco' music whilst doing the stepping exercises. I have been taken off the Sitigliptin tablet and have shaved 22 points of my RS ...............GP said to carry on until October and then we'll drop another tablet Sukkarto ! I am lucky not to have mobility issues but I am 67 years old and to be truthful I don't know how long I will be able to keep up the exercise just to keep my weight down and those all important points down too - oh and I have lost 20lb's in weight. Good luck to everyone else...............I really look forward to reading how you all are managing.
