@mariem that sounds really tough.
Do follow-up on getting help and support for the menopause. I have seen more than one person describing feeling just as you are whose life was transformed by HRT and appropriate help and support through menopause.
Those levels are very high, and will be making you feel pretty fatigued and low in mood too. When you ‘lose control’ are you turning to food as a comfort for your mental state?
Do you have medication to help with your glucose management?
Have you tried cutting back on carbohydrates (not just sweet and sugary things)? Along with the obvious things like cakes, biscuits, sweets and sugary drinks, you might be surprised how much *all* carbohydrate affects your BG levels, including rice, pasta, potatoes, bread, pastry, grains, cereals and many fruits.
Reducing portions of those or looking for some possible swaps, portion reductions, or using lower carb alternatives (eg celeriac or swede mash, or cauli ‘rice’), can be a very powerful strategy.
We have lots of resources in the Learning Zone that you could work through at your own pace (orange tab in the main menu), but I don’t want to overwhelm you with stuff to read if you are finding it tricky to retain information like that.
Hang in there. We are rooting for you. The forum can encourage you along as you make small changes, falter, get back on track. There’s no judgement here, and no ‘one size fits all’ approach you have to follow. It’s about finding your own way through the options to discover a system that works for you.
