Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
from the balls of my feet to the tips of my toes feels as if they are ice cold, sometimes worse than others, any suggestions on how to ease this or what I should or shouldnt be doing to prevent it from happening

thanks

Welcome @davebevs1 🙂

Can you tell us a little more about yourself eg how long you’ve been diagnosed, if you’re on any meds for your Type 2, and what your blood glucose results are like (ie the numbers?).

Sometimes diabetes can affect the nerves in the feet and other places, so I’d speak to a doctor to check that out. They could also test the pulse in your feet, and look for other possible issues not related to diabetes.

Hi @davebevs1 and welcome. Can you tell us a little more about your diabetes story? It would help members to work out if any of their experiences are similar to yours.

In any case I would be talking to my GP/diabetes nurse to see if they have any comments.

@Inka, just beat me to it!

Thank you for reply. I have been diagnosed for years to be honest but I've been foolish not to be taking it serious foolishly think g because I'm taking tablets it's u der control without doing my bit, well I guess I'm starting to pay for me being so nieve. I take two metfotmin tablets per day. But really need to look closer at my diet. Have never even asked to do blood sugars etc and although not against going and buying little machine to do it I wouldn't know what to do with the information once I had it. Sorry for my ignorance

Ok, well I’d still speak to the doctor or nurse, but then if I was you, I’d get a glucose meter so that you can check your blood sugar at home. Diet-wise, you need to watch all carbs as they’re what will put your blood sugar up.

There’s plenty of help here about how and when to test. It’s not hard and it will give you some really helpful information 🙂

Are your feet actually cold to the touch, or do they just feel as though they are?
We can't give medical advice, but it might help you to consider if it is poor circulation, or lack of sensation you are experiencing, so you can report it accurately when you do consult - as it will most likely be by a phone call.

Welcome to the forum @davebevs1

Sorry to hear about your feet.

Hopefully with some extra advice and support from you Dr/nurse along with some hints/tips from the members here you‘ll be able to make some positive changes to your diabetes management.

Good luck and keep asking questions!
