Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi there, I'm new to the site. I have Type 1 and was diagnosed 21 years ago. I've been on a pump for just over a year. I'm hoping to just be able to chat and discuss things now and again on here - having read a blog about 'normal' people not understanding our daily battles with diabetes, I'm inspired to be in contact with other diabetics a little more often! 😛

Hi Debi and welcome 🙂 (There are a lot of newbies on the forum today!!)

I like to think that *we* are the normal ones, and the people without diabetes aren't! :D. Though I'm a parent of a type 1 boy, and daughter of a type 2 Mum, so not actually diabetic myself.....

I grew up not far from Solihull (seems a long time ago though!).

Hi Debi, welcome to the forum 🙂 There is a wide range of experiences here and everyone is very friendly and supportive, so please feel free to join in wherever you wish!

Hi Redkite, yes, I agree, I feel completely 'normal' but thats not always how we get thought of in my experience.
Thanks Northerner, I'm looking forward to making some new friends 🙂

Welcome to the forum Debi 🙂

Hi there, yes, Tamworth isn't too far. The forum is really helpful and its a comfort to know I'm not the only one with the issues I seem to have! Wish I'd found it years ago! How long have you been diabetic?
