Has anyone had any heart problems after AstraZeneca 2nd vaccination??
Hi Mike, I m using pens at the moment but soon to have the pump which I know nothing about, any info welcomed.Welcome to the forum @Jo48yearsandcounting
48 years is a long stretch! You must have seen a lot of changes over that time! Which insulins do you use, and are you on pens or a pump? Do you use anything like a sensor?
Sorry to hear about your heart problems.
Have they come out of the blue? What sort of troubles have you been experiencing?
I want to wait to hear if anyone has had any issues after their 2nd Covid vaccination before I say anything as the hospital have skirted around any explanation for what happened to me.
Two days after my 2nd vaccine I had a heaviness in my chest and terrible itching through both arms down to the tips of my fingers, I stupidly didn't realise I was having a heart attack until it happened again, much worse after another two days. I was in hospital for three days having all sorts of tests, no problems or reasons could be found. The last test involved injecting a dye into my arteries to (I think) check the blood supply to the heart, the consultant said he could find nothing wrong, the only question he did ask was whether I had recently had a 2nd covid vaccination? When I explained that I had two attacks within 4 days of the vaccination he muttered 'not the only one".I too had AZ for both. My only symptoms were insulin sensitivity.
I hypoed a lot after both my jabs and, 5 months after my second jab, my basal dose is 80% of what it was prior.
I have been grateful for my pump as it has enabled me to change my basal at short notice to manage this.
No heart problems whatsoever. My ticker is tickety-boo.

The hospital would not confirm or dismiss this as the reason for what had happened.
This is why I was curious
Still here but now very worried about the government's plans for 3rd vaccinations.
Ive been asked to sit and wait 10 minutes after all COVID and flu jabs I've hadGosh! How frightening for you Jo!
Glad you were able to come through it OK.
The booster jabs are all Pfizer as far as I am aware - interestingly I was asked to sit for 15 minutes after my Pfizer jab which I didn’t have to do for either AZ.

I was told not to drive for 15 minutes after having my AZ but there was no room in the surgery to wait so I had to return to the car and listen to the radio. This seemed odd because there was no one patrolling the car parks to see if anyone had a reaction.I was asked to sit for 15 minutes after my Pfizer jab which I didn’t have to do for either AZ.
