The doctors do not seem to be any nearer in understanding why. Has anyone experience this sickness before.

I think some of the info may have been eaten in the title.

Can you give us some more info? Have the doctors ruled out cyclical vomiting? CV isn’t diabetes related but can be chronic.

What is going on in terms of his sickness? Perhaps we can help if we know more?

He has had type 1 for ten years. He has gone through a very turmoil period over the last three year, with the birth of his very disabled daughter. Which seem to have effected him greatly and suffers from depression. He has recently lost his job due to being almost constantly sick. He seems to be mangling his diabetes. He is now painfully thin. The doctors do not seem to be any nearer in understanding what is causing this, he has had several gastro tests but nothing obvious is coming up.He has days where he feels on top of the world which can last for about 5 days and overnight he is sick again. We are trying to monitor what he is eating removing red meat from his diet, having smaller regular meals.

I have now looked up this condition and he does seem to have a lot of the symptoms detailed. At the moment he is not well enough to try and talk to him about it, If i mention the word being sick it sets him off again.

There are meds that can help and can be given at the first sign/thought of sickness. It’s very hard to get a diagnosis for it but if you can get a doctor willing to treat it as if it is CV then it may give him some breathing space. It is strongly linked to anxiety and he should be able to get some help from the GP with that too.
