Hi I’m type 2 and new to this any good advice?
Welcome to the forum.
What advice would be appropriate will depend on a number of things so if you are willing to share information about your situation, what your HbA1C is, are you taking any medication, what dietary regime are you following. I assume you are newly diagnosed so have you had any advice from your GP as yet, you should also get a foot check and be sent for retinal eye screening.

Spot on!
What advice were you given by your GP/DN?
Did they tell you most newly diagnosed T2Ds can reverse their condition back to normal in a few months by diet?
Here is Dr David Unwin's diet sheet, you could start with that (all things equal):

Welcome to the forum @Chrissie&andy

How long have you been living with diabetes?

To get you of to a solid start, you might want to register for an account with the Learning Zone (the orange tab in the main menu) which is packed full of informative bite-sized modules that you can take at your own pace. Additionally, for a more personal take, members here frequently recommend Maggie Davey’s Letter to the Newly Diagnosed which is one woman’s reflections on what she wishes she had been told earlier on!

Yes, there is a of advice on this website & forum, in fact so much that you might feel overwhelmed; and if you've just been diagnosed you'll probably be feeling a bit shocked & worried as well

But do your best to calm down and accept that it will take a while to understand all the information

Take some comfort from the fact that you are not alone, as we have all been in that situation, and that you can live well with diabetes, though it will usually require some changes, especially to your diet

Have a look at -
the Sections 'Basics' and 'Living with diabetes' 0n the Home Page
Learning Zone, the red tab at the top of this page
Previous Threads, especially in the Newcomers & Food sections of this forum, as any questions will probably have been asked before

And speaking of questions, ask away! Nothing on here is considered too silly or basic
