Hi everyone. I’m newly diagnosed and trying to navigate my way round my new way of eating. So glad I found this forum ☺️

Hi and welcome. If you'd like to tell us a bit about yourself - how you came to be diagnosed, what your HbA1c was, and your medications, we can tailor our suggestions to you. In the meantime, I suggest you work your way through the Learning Zone, at your own pace. I found I could only absorb one module a day. We've all had to learn and no question is silly - I've asked plenty while I was learning. Best wishes

Hi Welcome to the forum, if you say a bit more about your diagnosis and what your HbA1C is then people can tailor their replies to any questions you have.
Having a look around at the various posts and at the learning zone will give you a good start in feeling your way into a new way of eating and lifestyle.

Hi @Hey there and welcome to the forum. A minefield to start with isn't it? You've come to the right place though, I've never known a question not be answered by the vast wealth of knowledge from people here.

You'll notice from a lot of posts that carbs are the things to avoid. Yes, it's a new way of eating, but it becomes the new normal and I don't miss by bread, taters, rice and pasta any more. This is astonishing because previously my meal of choice was either pie and chips or a chip butty!

Are you on medication and what is your hba1c? Sorry to ask, but it gives a bit more information to work with 🙂
