Still coming to terms with my 3 years old diagnosis !! My diabetic nurse told me today she is researching whether to change my diagnosis from type 1 to type 3.

I have Type 3c diabetes caused by pancreatitis. I'm recorded as Type 3c in some places and Type 1 in others.

In terms of diabetes management the treatment is the same as Type 1s. There's the addition of digestive enzymes (Creon) if you're not producing enough. Is that the case for you?

It's not easy to come to terms with having diabetes, I think many of us still struggle with it so you're in good company.

I'm glad that you're getting some further research done to confirm your diagnosis as it makes a difference as to how you manage things.

Thank you soupdragon and Cherrelle! I’m still waiting to get confirmation of change to type 3. But yes I do take creon/nutrizym as I had most of my pancreas removed. I’m sure I’ll have lots of questions in time! Thanks again
