Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed yesterday so I’m now trying to get my head around it. I had gestational diabetes two years ago and have gone on to develop type two.
Like all or you, I don’t want to have this. Iv always thought I was ‘healthy’ for an over weight person. How stupid of me?!? So here I am joining you all on the journey, to drop my numbers and no longer be classed as having diabetes, or manage it with as little meds as poss!!

Welcome 2stars, glad you found us!

Well The doctor spoke to me over the phone, gave me metformin and said my numbers were 51. Iv booked to see the diabetes nurse in three weeks. But that’s all I know. I lost three stone when I was pregnant sticking to low carbs but I feel like what the nhs say and actual people with diabetes say are two different things. I couldn’t tolerate any carbs at all while pregnant and that’s not great for my baby so ended up on insulin. But will I get to do a finger prick test again to check my bloods ? Or do I just hope for the best for three months? The gestational diabetes nurse at the hospital told me to have wetabix for chrxxx sake! And my numbers were 14 after that. So im not sure who to trust.
Thanks in advance

People seem to have tolerance for different foods. What I could tolerate and eat , have had to bee changed and adjusted over the years.
