Hi everyone , I have had diabetes for about 3 yrs now (type 2) ,we are a family of 4 my wife who has Primary Progressive MS our 2 kids a 14 and 4 yr old and myself , we enjoy life to the full (as much as possible anyway) and enjoy camping and being out with the kids and our two lovely puppy dogs(Bullmastiffs).

Sugarbum glad you like the name it definatly is a Madhouse here, all good fun at times though (and then come the days you could pull your hair out 😱)

am64 we love it down here to, in fact we lived near your neck of the woods until 4 yrs ago as we lived in Milton Keynes (not that far from S.Bucks)

Shiv , I didn't realise that you get it that young , I haven't really looked into that closely yet , as I say its a complete Madhouse here I'm either trying to look after my wife or the kids or all of them :D but I love it really

Hi Northerner glad you like our pups they are 10 and 9 mnths old so fast approaching adults now , I will post some pictures of them when I have had a good look around the site and worked out how to do it (size etc etc).

Ah, well its a friendly bunch here!

Hows your diabetes going? Ive been diagnosed only a little longer than you, I hit the 4 year mark in February.

Are those your dogs? Great exerciser!
 
I'm a little ignorant to my diabetes I'm afraid Sugarbum , I tend not to worry about myself to much as my wife has more pressing demands , I tend to pop my pills and go for 6 mnth check ups and thats as far as it goes really.
I take 2 850g Metformin a day 1 Actos (pioglitazone) tablet ,1 Simvastatin and 1 Lisinopril I don't know what other people take.
As far as the dogs go they are really great exercise for me and come the summer 🙄 we will be taking them swimming as well , which will be even better for them and me.

You will enjoy it hear, there is a thread for everyone- about everything! Lots of things to pick up. It must be very hard for you to give the time that diabetes demands from you when you have other things to deal with as well- sounds good that you and the family make the very best of things though 🙂

The dogs are cute by the way!
 
I tend not to think of the Diabetes as being something that needs dealing with (rightly or wrongly) maybe its just to easy to pop a pill and get on with life ,the only thing I have noticed is I get a little tired from time to time , my wife tends to fall a sleep in the afternoon for an hour or 2 with her MS and if I don't have things to do I some times nod off to , which is something I never would have done before.

Hi Bex thats were we are living now , been in Neyland for about 2 1/2 years , we are moving to Milford later this year though as we have been allocated a specialist disabled bungalow for my wife.

The lady who runs the shop at the docks is lovely , we go in there at least once a week as I love fresh fish , we try and eat different varities and yes we have had the Ray tails yuuummmmy!

Just like to say Hi to everyone else who has welcomed us so far as well.

wow small world , it was pretty much the middle of knowwhere when we lived there has it got any better lol , we used to live in flemming way ,although i was born in camarthen , anywhere near u?
 
hahaaa great pic !! apparently the ray tails dont get sold outside milford haven cos theres never any left ! we have used the milton farm shop alot and are very happy with the fish shop that has opened there now aswell...ohhh pembrokeshire food ....Yerberstan gate ...Black beef !!!
